April 2019
I am pleased to announce that Reliant has been chosen as a Top Workplace in the Rochester area for the second year in a row! The Top Workplaces were announced at a reception on March 27 at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center. To give a little background, the Top Workplaces competition is conducted by the Democrat and Chronicle in partnership with Energage, an employee research and consulting firm. Together, they determine the area’s Top Workplaces.
This year, 91 organizations in our region took the survey, and 65 employers scored well enough to be recognized on the 2019 Top Workplaces list. Not only was Reliant recognized for a second time, but we also received the Ambassador Award this year!
One of the unique and special elements of this particular competition is how companies are invited to participate: Reliant was originally asked to participate because we were nominated by a staff member who felt Reliant is a great place to work! Once nominated, we worked with the D&C and Energage to administer a survey that gathered anonymous responses from our employees on a number of areas, including organizational health, employee engagement, confidence in leadership, and things like pay, benefits, flexibility, and training.
Employee satisfaction is very important to us. Everything we do at Reliant is for our members, but it all starts with our employees. When our employees are happy and enjoy coming to work each day, we provide exceptional service for our members. We established a culture of Accountability, Respect, and Teamwork (ART) in 2006 that we refer to as the ART of Serving Others. These three main tenets of our culture have always been at the heart of our organization, and putting them on paper has only served to strengthen them: our culture is something that influences everything we do. It guides how we treat one another and those we serve. It is part of our conversations when we interview potential team members, and it helps ensure an environment where everyone feels heard and welcome—an environment where people enjoy coming to work.
We are proud to be able to say that we are a Top Workplace for the second year in a row, and we won’t just hang our plaque on the wall—we pledge to keep working and improving so that our service to you, our members, can exceed your expectations.
