SODUS, N.Y., November 20, 2024—Reliant Credit Union continues its mission to help students in the Finger Lakes put their best feet forward! Reliant recently donated 75 pairs of sneakers to Geneva Central School District. The sneakers will be given to students in North Street and West Street Elementary Schools.

This is the fourth donation this year for Reliant’s Feet Forward program, a special community effort Reliant created in 2016, through which the credit union partners with area schools and organizations to provide quality sneakers to kids who need them. For the fifth year in a row, Reliant is collaborating with Jonathan Griffiths, owner of Rochester Running Company, who helped facilitate the credit union’s purchase of an array of high-quality sneakers so that the credit union could donate them to children who otherwise wouldn’t have access to quality footwear.

“Our Feet Forward program goes beyond providing sneakers—it’s about empowering children with the health, happiness, and opportunities they deserve,” said Pamela Heald, President & CEO of Reliant. “By partnering with local schools and organizations, we’re helping build a strong foundation for the next generation in our community.”

Since Reliant started Feet Forward in 2016, the credit union has donated 2,372 pairs of sneakers—a total investment of over $69,000 to help local children.

“We’re extremely grateful to Reliant Credit Union for including Geneva in their Feet Forward program,” said Geneva City School District Superintendent Bo Wright. “Their generosity in donating 75 pairs of youth sneakers has made a substantial positive impact not only on 75 of our students but on their families as well.”
