Race History

In 2009, Reliant started a race that would help raise additional funds for our Donald K. Rhine Scholarship program. The scholarships are awarded each year to members who exemplify the credit union’s “people helping people” philosophy.

The race, named Moore than a Race , was created to honor the memory of Richard K. Moore, Reliant’s Chairman of the Board from 1986–2009. View the gray box on this page to read a little more about Mr. Moore.

Moore than a Race began as a 5K, and in 2014, its fifth year, the race expanded to include a 10K as well.
