SODUS, N.Y., September 12, 2023— Reliant Credit Union continues its mission to give back to teachers in schools in the Greater Rochester and Finger Lakes region. Reliant kicked off the school year by giving more than 1,200 back-to-school gift kits to teachers at East High School, Marcus Whitman, Rush-Henrietta’s Crane Elementary School, Sodus Central Schools, and Canandaigua Academy.
As a credit union initially founded by teachers for teachers, Reliant recognizes the vital role educators play in shaping young minds in the community.
“By extending a small gesture of appreciation, we show our teachers that their hard work doesn’t go unnoticed,” said Karen Hoad, Reliant’s Member Development Coordinator. “We are grateful to all the amazing educators for shaping our community’s future.”
“Our principals were excited about this and appreciated the recognition of their staff,” said Andrew Whitmore, Rush-Henrietta’s Assistant Superintendent.
Reliant Credit Union, which began locally in 1970, is a $650 million credit union serving more than 45,000 members. Eligibility is available to all who live, work, worship, attend school, or volunteer in Monroe, Ontario, and Wayne counties.
