“People Helping People” — We Are Stronger Together

Four weeks ago, in the face of the growing outbreak of COVID-19, Reliant made the decision to close our in-store branches and move to a drive-thru, call center, ATM, and self-serve operations. This was done for the safety of our employees, our members, and the communities that we serve. Based on feedback from you and our employees, things are going well and we are settling into a new way of serving you. We have the best members… I say it now more than ever before. I truly appreciate how courteous you’ve been to our staff during this difficult time. You are the reason we do what we do, and our team loves serving you!

Are you prepared? And can we help?

While I remain hopeful that we are able to maintain our current services in place, I do encourage you to prepare along with us in the event that we need to reduce hours or available locations. There is no intent to make these changes; however, it is prudent to plan so that we are prepared in the event these reductions are necessary. The CDC issued guidance this week encouraging self-serve transactions to maintain social distancing.

If ever there has been a time to embrace technology—to deposit a check using our mobile app, to do transactions in online banking, to use your debit/ATM card for cash— it is now! We are an email, a chat, or a call away in case you need assistance with trying something new. Please know that encouraging the use of self-serve channels during this time is temporary; we recognize that many of you prefer to see us in person—and we enjoy that also.

I realize that many of you are concerned about the personal financial impact of this crisis. We are here to help. We want you to experience as little disruption as possible and receive as much assistance as you need. We have been very focused on what we can do to help you through this, and because of that, the list of services we’re offering to take care of our members’ changes constantly. We will continue to communicate new developments via email and by adding them to the COVID-19 page on our website. I encourage you to check that page often to be sure you are getting the most up-to-date information.

We are here for you

Everyone here at Reliant is working hard to ensure that we continue to provide exceptional member service, especially during this challenging time. Your Reliant team has been nothing short of amazing. I am so very proud and impressed with our entire team. They have stepped up in so many ways, and are true examples of the credit union philosophy of “people helping people” in action.

Our Future

I am optimistic that, as a community, we will come out of this challenge stronger than we
were before. We are in this—and will get through this—together.
