learn more about sub-accounts

  • what is a sub-account?

A sub-account is an account beyond your primary savings account that exists under the same account number.  Examples of sub-accounts are checking accounts, daily money accounts, certificates, Christmas Club, special savings, and more.

Each type of sub-account has a different suffix to help you decipher between sub-accounts.

  • how do suffixes work?

At Reliant, your suffix is listed after your account number when referring to a particular sub-account.  Some of Reliant’s suffixes include:

    • Checking accounts (-900)
    • Daily money accounts (-800)
    • HSA checking accounts (-190)
    • Christmas Club accounts (-600)

In other words, if your account number were 7654321, and you were asked to provide the account number for your daily money sub-account, you would provide 7654321-800.

  • benefits of sub-accounts

You can use sub-accounts to save for something specific by separating your finances into special savings accounts on the same account.

Because your sub-accounts fall under the same account number, you can access all of them using a single online banking login!
