Shared Branches
Shared Branching is one of the best-kept secrets of membership with Reliant! A Shared Branch is a branch of another credit union where a Reliant member can go to conduct routine transactions—and get the personalized service our members expect when they bank with us! Likewise, members from other participating credit unions are able to use Reliant branches to conduct business on their accounts. Reliant participates in the CO-OP Shared Branch network, which gives you access to your Reliant account at more than 5,600 participating credit union branch locations across the country, including nearly 75 locations in the Rochester, Buffalo, and Syracuse areas.
If you walk into a participating credit union, you can make deposits, loan payments, withdrawals, and transfers between your Reliant accounts. You will need to present a valid, government-issued photo ID, and will be asked to provide Reliant’s name and your account number. If you present an out-of-state ID at a participating credit union, you will need to authenticate yourself by scanning the QR code located at a branch or visiting verify.coop.org and following the authentication steps. This fraud prevention measure helps to make certain it is you trying to access your account, not an imposter. Once you’re authenticated, the Shared Branch credit union will automatically be linked to your account at Reliant, and will be able to conduct your transactions. You can then conduct transactions—deposits, withdrawals, transfers, account inquiries, and more—plus get person-to-person assistance with your accounts just as you would at any Reliant branch, even when you’re far from home!
