SODUS, N.Y., June 13, 2022—Pamela Heald, President & CEO of Reliant Credit Union, has been inducted into the Circle of Excellence by the Rochester Business Journal at their annual Women of Excellence Event. Women of Excellence are chosen based on their professional experience, community involvement, leadership and sustained commitment to mentoring. Circle of Excellence winners are “selected by the RBJ based on whether they are women whom other women want to emulate, women who broke the glass ceiling and women whose success has impacted the next generation,” according to the RBJ.
“These women are professionally successful, committed to community service and are mentoring the next generation of leaders,” said Suzanne Fischer-Huettner, Publisher of the Rochester Business Journal. “Every one of them is inspiring change and ensuring all women have access to every opportunity.”
Ms. Heald was chosen for being a woman of longstanding, notable success in the community who is leading change in her organization and community. She began at Reliant, then WCTA Federal Credit Union, in 1992 and held various job titles before being named CEO in 2007. Since Ms. Heald became CEO, Reliant has added four branches, for a total of nine—and a tenth location is set to open in late 2022 in Farmington, NY. Reliant’s assets have nearly tripled since 2007 and has grown to more than 43,000 members, an increase of more than 30 percent under Ms. Heald’s leadership. She currently serves on the Community Foundation advisory board, Wayne County Civic Facilities, Wayne County IDA board, Village of Newark Loan Committee, Executive Leadership Committee, Wayne ARC Foundation board, Village of Newark Downtown Revitalization Initiative Committee, and she is a member of Women Presidents’ Organization.
“Pamela Heald is a model mentor for Reliant’s employees and the community,” said Jane Slack, Chair of Reliant’s Board of Directors. “It is a privilege to work alongside Pamela, and I cannot think of a more deserving individual to receive this honor.”
Reliant Credit Union, which began locally in 1970, is a $635 million credit union serving more than 43,000 members.
