Certificates

Whether you're just starting out saving, or you're looking for a long-term option to grow your nest egg, we have the certificate option for you!

With all certificate options, your dividends are calculated daily, and compounded and credited quarterly. They are renewed automatically, so you can continue to save after the initial term is up! Choose the best option for your needs below:

Starter Certificates

Are you looking to start on the path toward long-term saving, but aren’t sure where to start? A Starter Certificate may be the right option for you! They require no minimum initial deposit, letting you take advantage of higher dividend rates, no matter how much money you have to save at the beginning of the term. You’ll begin to earn dividends as soon as you make your initial deposit—and unlike most other certificates, with a Starter Certificate, you may continue to add funds until it matures, allowing you to continue to grow your savings!

Starter Certificates are available in one-, two- and three-year terms, and there is a penalty1 for early withdrawal. Visit our rates page to learn more.

Tip: Looking for a way to avoid a low-balance fee on your Reliant savings account? Why not open a Starter Certificate for just $100? You’ll earn dividends and save on fees!

Investor Certificates

Earn higher dividends than traditional savings accounts when you open an Investor Certificate! Whether you are looking for a short- or long-term investment, we have a certificate that will work toward helping you reach your financial goals! An Investor Certificate requires an initial deposit of at least $1,000, and no additional deposits may be made until the certificate matures.

Visit our rates page for rate and term information. There is a penalty2 for early withdrawal.

IRA Certificates

IRA Certificates (Traditional and Roth) give you the choices and the flexibility you need to enjoy high-yield and low-risk retirement savings. As with Investor Certificates, IRA Certificates require you to deposit at least $1,000 at account opening, and no additional deposits may be made until the certificate matures. Consult your tax advisor to determine which IRA certificate best meets your needs.

Visit our rates page for rate and term information. There is a penalty2 for early withdrawal.

Jumbo Certificates

For Investor and IRA Certificate accounts with aggregate balances of $50,000 or greater, including “Special” certificate terms, we offer Jumbo Certificate rates. Please call our Member Service Center at 800-724-9282 or visit your nearest branch to learn more.

Dividends are paid from current income and available earnings after required transfers to reserves at the end of the dividend period. The dividend period begins on the first calendar day of the month and ends on the last calendar day of the period. Dividends begin accruing on the effective date of the deposit. Any certificate account closed prior to the end of the dividend period will receive dividends paid up to the date of withdrawal.

1: The early withdrawal penalty for a Starter Certificate is 180 days of dividends. Fees may reduce earnings.

2: For Investor and IRA Certificates, the early withdrawal penalty depends on the term of the certificate. For terms of 12 months or less, the penalty is 90 days dividends; for terms greater than 12 months, the penalty is 180 days dividends. Fees may reduce earnings.

What happens when my Certificate matures?

We will send you a letter notifying you that your certificate will mature at least 30 days prior to maturity. Your certificate will be automatically renewed for the same term at the current interest rate upon maturity, unless you notify us to do otherwise within ten days of maturity.

Periodically certificate specials are offered at terms other than regular terms. Certificate specials will automatically renew to the next available shorter regular term.

Available Investor and IRA Certificate terms (“Regular Terms”)

6, 12, 18, 24, 36, 48, and 60 months

Certificate Specials are periodically available with higher rates for a specific non-regular term.
